He has been one hell of a pick up locking down the other side of the field, thank God DRC spurned ARZ for NYG, they are a train wreck. Cap experts, does ARZ have the money now to offer him an extension or do we have to wait until the end of the year to free cap space?

I know a couple of pass rushers are needed and will most likely be the focus of the offseason for ARZ but this year's draft is pretty weak in terms of CB's. I would rather ARZ bring back Cro who will only be 31 at the start of next year on a 2 - 3 year deal. The only CB that would adequately replace Cro would be Revis but I think NE either puts some sort of tag on him or he stays figuring they give him the best shot at a ring. The next best CB hitting the market would be Brandon Flowers but he is really small at 5'9 to handle the big receivers like Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson, etc. Plus I think Cro is a better player than Flowers.

ARZ could target a guy like Marcus Peters in Round 2 but despite him being kicked off his team someone will take a gamble on him late Round 1 - mid to late Round 2. I just feel a veteran like Cro would be better for the current window ARZ is in for a title.

So, I really like the dynamic that Cro brings to the defense, and he has been a great signing. However, let's remember a couple things. 1. Cro is over 30 in a game where players drop off very quickly. 2. Was cut last year because his play was not worth the money he was scheduled to make. So, like Dansby, there is a number that is acceptable for the Cardinals, there is a number that another team will offer Cro, and there is a priority that Cro will put on winning vs money.

The Cardinals will offer him a deal, but like Dansby, Cro will ultimately determine if he wants to stay in Arizona. I think he is worth $5 mil to the Cardinals after playing for $3.5 mil this year, but I would only sign him for one or two years. I think he will get offerred better somewhere else, and I can't blame him for taking it.

Last year, I was pretty skeptical that any team would offer Dansby big dollars, and figured only a playoff team that wanted an extra piece might pony up. Browns proved me wrong.

This year, I think its a lock that with the premium placed on corners, some team is going to pay for Cro to be their #1 guy.

Dan Williams is going to need to be resigned this offseason too. Always tough juggling and choices to make.

Yeah, ideally, it would be terrific to get Cromartie back. But, it is extremely unlikely that we can match the top of the market for CBs next year to keep him. The one year deal was a very good decision by him, as he is going to bank serious dough from some GM wanting to replicate what we are doing with our secondary.

He was most likey a one year rent a player. Dude will want to get paid and the Cardinals are already behind the 8 ball salary cap wise.

I'd love to have him back but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I think a moderate raise, like Chopper proposed, would be fair. But, also as Chopper pointed out, probably would be beat by some team.

As good as he has been, at his age and the other players needed to be signed will most likely mean he will be one and done here.

Unless, of course, he likes the winning and takes a lower deal. He does have many, many mouths to feed apparently...

The only way he will be back next year is if he wants to be. I hope he does.

By the way everyone keeps saying they love playing for Arians and this organization, not sure that many guys will want to leave. $ does talk in the scheme of things though.

Hijacking my own thread...other than Dockett & Fitzgerald who else is a restructure candidate?

Fitz is slated to make $20M next year, if ARZ can get him to take $8M - $10M that would really help.

Dockett is slated for $9M+, so if he is willing to take half that (unlikely) he will be on the roster next year, if not I can't see ARZ keeping him at that number.

Is there anyone else, it seems like ARZ isn't saddled with bad contracts, other than the 2 above.

The team is going to have some decisions to make. Powers has a larger cap number (5.2). Shaughnessy too (2.7). Sendlein (4.2). Alexander is due 2 mil.

Honestly, the Cardinals could extend Calais with his contract up in 2016. That is an option.

Where the Cards will make big progress in terms of space is with Fitz, Dockett, and a possible extension for Campbell. Those are the big numbers. However, this roster does have some fat that it can trim.

I see the Cro situation exactly like Dansby. Older player is motivated on a 1 year deal, plays great and gets a big offer on the market.

I sure hope we can keep Fitz and CC. Those guys would be a huge loss for this team. Leadership. Dockett sure seems like he is a AZ dedicated guy. Loves it here, but thats not everything obviously.

I would love to keep him.

Fitz, Dockett, Alexander, Powers all are over paid at this point.

Kiem is going to be busy this offseason. But he has already proven he is always busy improving this team. So I have faith everything will be handled as well as it can.

Powers is not overpaid... he is crucial to this defense because he is so interchangeable that it is unreal how Bowles uses him and there are far more positives that override any negatives to this point and his contract in my opinion :)

Yeah, Powers is a damn good price IMO for what he does for us. Does no one remember how when Peterson went out in the 1st half of the Eagles game he stepped into his spot and played very well. Even better than Peterson had to that point, that DAY?

Highly unlikely Cro is a Card next year...there will be a team offering him a 3-4 year deal worth 35 to 40 mil with 16-17 guaranteed.

I think they'll make an effort to re-sign him. He's 30 to the rest of the league too so I don't know why that would be a factor to the Cards but not the other 31 teams.

Cromartie allowed 127 yards after the catch to Demaryius Thomas. The rest of the season, he's allowed 132 yards TOTAL...

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
I think it's safe to say @CRO31 is not done. He's healthy, and he's making the #Jets miss him dearly. Serves them right. Thanks, idiots.

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
My word. Excluding the Denver game, @CRO31 has a 19.7 passer rating allowed, by far the lowest in the NFL.

That Denver game... :(

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
ANTONIO CROMARTIE HAS ALLOWED 12 YARDS RECEIVING OVER THE PAST 3 GAMES, I SAID.

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
Over the past 3 games, @CRO31 has allowed 3 receptions on 8 targets (37.5%) for 12 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT. Leads NFL w/ 6.3 rating allowed.

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
Since Week 6, Antonio Cromartie (@CRO31) leads the NFL with a 17.3 passer rating allowed. Next closest is TB's Johnathan Banks, at 40.0...

Shaun Church ‏@NFLChurch 5h5 hours ago
Over the past three weeks, @CRO31 (6.3) and @RealPeterson21 (29.5) rank 1 and 3, respectively, in passer rating allowed according to @PFF

You could easily make an argument for him as Cards DMVP. He's been great.

I would be willing to give him a Dansby type deal. Either a 3-yr $21M or a 2-year $16M deal would be my max if I were Keim, fair considering Powers is making $5M playing the slot. That would be a bargain considering Revis is making $15M this year alone and has a team option for $20 MILLION next year. I think NE will extend him and playing for a contender will weigh heavily on Revis' decision. Hopefully, playing for a contender and the talent he has around him in the secondary convinces Cromartie to stick around, but as many of you have stated, it comes down to if he wants to be here or not. I wonder if the weather will also be a factor, no one wants to play in the cold and ARZ is one of the few places where weather isn't an issue.

We won't be able to afford Cro, he is earning himself big bucks, make that huge bucks and we can't afford it CAP wise.

I'm looking forward to see what gems SK finds in FA next year that he will get for a bargain.

I'm also excited to see what Comp pick(s) we get this year and going forward. 3rd rd picks work for me since SK has snagged HB, Smokey and Kareem Martin.
