I think he’s the real deal but QBs develop at varying rates. I try not to get too high or too low on early performances. The Cards do not have a positive history of player development. It always seems to me the Cards do to little to help a new QB succeed. In this case a poor line and weak receiving corps makes the task harder than it has to be. The failure to sign a decent veteran receiver is absurd. It would also be better if they were focused on a smart playbook, not one dumbed down. Rosen is a bright guy. Use his intellect; challenge him. Don’t give him a half loaded gun.

I hope they don't dumb it down enough that they run DJ up the middle on 50% of the plays.... Oh wait, that what they have been doing.

Let's go Josh!

How will you feel about him if he throws a ton of picks, and just looks bad. Will you give up on him then and there or will you chalk it up as his first full game and hope he gets better?

First game of his career, I’ll let it slide. If we’re like 4 or 5 games from now I might worry. Hopefully by then McCoy is gone.

But what’s the alternative? Bradford is not the future and neither is Glennon and we already blew any chance of a post season.

if he ends the season with 20 TD's and 20 INT's he did fine... a bad first game is only that. rookies are gonna rookie from time to time

With McCoy as OC, not even Jesus Christ would look good under center. Josh will struggle too, maybe with a few bright moments due to his overall skill set. It’ll look like Plummer’s 1st season. Because our coaching brain trust is pathetic, the sports media will deem Rosen the problem & label him a bust.

For me this is a throw away year. All Josh has to do is just get game experience. Im not expecting too much from him this season. As long as he progresses thru out the year thats fine with me. But, if he turns out to be a boy wonder and wins out? Thats even better!

me too...sadly, I would prefer in a way that he learn well and we get a top three draft pick. Picking that high while having $95mil in cap space to spend...means we can load this team up quickly next off season and be good for years.

we need five solid pieces.

RT

#1 WR

DT...preferably a vet

MLB....MIKE.... MIDDLE LINEBACKER..no hybrids, no games, no cutes...just a legit hit a mo fo so hard his momma starts cryin MIKE

another top CB...heir apparent to PP21...who will probably move to safety in about three years.

we need to keep the guys we have for depth...churn the bottom of the roster and replace with starters

we could use another OLB...a legit field stretcher wr...since JJ cant catch or run a good route...and another solid guard to prep behind Iupati

we can do it in a single off season just so long as The Rosen One makes it through the desert.

A large part of his success/failure will be how the players around perform. Will he get decent protection, will someone catch a pass, will DJ be effective in the game plan?

Throw some TDs, throw some picks, whatever. Just get comfortable with the NFL game and be the leader we all hope you'll be. Let's get in on Josh!

^Good luck with that. Pro Football Focus has the Cardinals inked in as the 32nd ranked offensive line. And that is with Bradford getting rid of the ball in 2.3 seconds. What is going to happen with Rosen holding onto the ball? Sack city here we come.

Last year LeCharles Bentley who runs a highly regarded offensive line academy wrote off John Wetzel as pretty much hopeless. Well Wetzel is the Cardinals top rated lineman by PFF.

I was expecting a big turnaround under Ray Brown, but that hasn't happened.

The entire coaching staff seems mired in a my way or the highway mentality. The coaches have to adapt to the players as much as the players have to adapt to them. And that doesn't appear to be happening.

I fear this might be a Jeff Fischer/Goff situation.

We need a new innovative OC. I don't know if anyone has sucess under McCoy

Wow, interesting, but also incredibly disappointing.

How we can possibly expect any QB, especially a rookie, to be successful behind the worst Oline in football? It makes you think Rosen has been given a suicide mission.

This is a lost year. Rosen needs to survive so that he can excel under new leadership.

Rooks too soon to judge;

1. Sam Darnold - C 1st game was overhyped.
2. Josh Allen - C+ picking up speed
3. Baker Mayfield - A so far 1/2 game
4. Lamar Jackson - Incomplete
5. Josh Rosen - ????????????????????????

We will find out if it is McCoy's offense that sucks so bad, if it was just Bradford, or both.

This is my test. If Rosen goes 3 and out similar to what Bradford was doing, we all know who's at fault at that point.

Well, if he goes 3 and out, throwing checkdowns behind LOS, it's on McCoy...if he goes 3 and out missing intermediate and deep passes, I can live with that.

Allen has been horrible but it's not all his fault he's been sacked like 15 times already he has no chance
