Real Madrid want to further renew youngster until 2031 after activating extension till 2029 – Romano
Earlier today, reports emerged from multiple reliable sources confirming that Real Madrid had extended the contract of breakout youngster Raul Asencio until 2029.
The 22-year-old has been one of the revelations of the season for Real Madrid and in La Liga, even breaking into the Spanish national team on the back of his performances.
Given that his existing contract expired in 2026 and also contained a release clause worth €50 million, Real Madrid acted quickly to extend the deal until 2029.
Another extension for Asencio
Not stopping at that, Real Madrid want to further renew Asencio’s contract until the summer of 2031 in the coming months, reports Fabrizio Romano.
As per the Italian journalist, the extension until 2029, which was reported today, was done by activating a clause in his existing academy contract, with the €50 million release clause also removed.

Now, Los Blancos plan to offer a new contract altogether for Asencio which would tie him down to the club until 2031.
Discussions are already underway for the same and it could be finalised in the coming months and announced in the summer.
There is no rush from either party at the moment, with Asencio focused on staying at Real Madrid despite having interest from elsewhere.
A product of La Fabrica, Asencio has made 30 first-team appearances in his debut season, even registering a couple of assists.
Stepping up in a time of need, the Spaniard has excelled at the back for Real Madrid and has convinced the club to secure his future for a long time.
So, with his extension until 2029 already activated, Real Madrid are now working on a separate deal to further renew his contract till 2031.
