They did, but not a record. Check 1995 Lions. The funny thing is that they kept throwing up a stat on the screen that teams with two 100 catch receivers and they were saying that we were the third team to do it. The others being 1995 Lions and the 2000 Rams. As far as I can tell the 2000 Rams did not accomplish this. Anyone have any insight on that?

It was the 2000 Broncos, Ed McAffrey and Rod Smith.

Yeah Fox had it wrong on the screen. They had 2000 Rams Holt/Bruce as having 100 catches each.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica] The Cardinals also set a franchise record with 4,450 yards passing this season.

We have to have set the most positive records in a season, on a team with a losing record. I wonder if thats a record.

Fitz on his Record.

That's par for the course with the announcers. I remember at the beginning of the game one of them said something like this... "The Cardinals defense just hasn't been the same since the loss of Calvin Smith earlier this year."

hmm... Calvin Smith. :thud:

Imagine Fitz's stats if teams rolled coverages to Boldin instead of him!

Regardless, if Boldin had 2 more games, he would have had at least 10 more catches and about 8 more than the #2 guy.

This is not official, just my own calculations using the stats prior to today's game and the box scores. Here's the final receiver stats in order of MOST RECEPTIONS:

1. Smith (Carolina), 103 catches, 1563 yards, 16 games
2. Fitzgerald, 103 catches, 1409 yards, 16 games
3. Boldin, 102 catches, 1402 yards, 14 games
4. Holt (St. Louis), 102 catches, 1331 yards, 14 games
5. Johnson (Cincinnati), 93 catches, 1432 yards, 16 games

Holt only had 4 catches tonight, but he also missed two games like Boldin. He's damn good.

Putting it in that context shows how good our guys really are. Boldin got more yards than Holt with the same number of catches. Wow! Not many people would've guessed that before the season started.

True. Give the "dynamic duo" all the credit (Boldin/Fitzgerald), but their accomplishments were aided by the fact that the Cardinals had the league's worst rushing offense (by far) and passed most of the game. Cardinals finished with 1138 total rushing yards, 225+ yards behind the second worse team which is pretty bad.

On the flip side, the Cards led the league in passing yards around 4450, an average of 278 a game!!.

That's 1138 rushing yards, 4450 passing yards for 2005. Over 4 to 1 in favor of the pass.

Another exciting stat is that Warner finished with a QB rating of 85.8. That is the highest rating since before Jake Plummer.

Plummer's best rating was 79.6 in 2001.

This team accomplished some good things on the field, were close in many more games than some of us expected, but couldn't close out the tight games.

Penalties, turnovers and bad special teams all conspired to kill our season. Today, turnovers were what did us in.

A compelling stat from today's game was when the announcers said that the team currently had more penalty yards than yards rushing for the season.

I don't think they were talking about the game. I heard that we had more penalty yards than rushing yards for the entire season.

That's how I interpreted it -- for the entire season.

At least today, they had 12 penalties for 98 yards and 129 yards rushing. I can't seem to find penalty yards in the stats.

Player punted pretty bad today for dome. Averaged 38.8 yards per kick. Prior to today, he had 68 punts averaging 44.3 yards per kick, for the season.

One compelling stat change this season from last is the giveaway/takeaway.

Arizona finished the season -11. Last season the team was +1. I remember many of those INTs that won the games for us last season. Cardinals had no such luck this year.

Its true we had like 1184 penalty yards. That was in the middle of the fourth quarter.
