Per ROTOWORLD via SirusXM....

Cardinals first-rounder Haason Reddick will move to outside linebacker after the season-ending ACL tear to OLB Markus Golden.

It makes sense. Reddick did it all at Temple, from rushing the passer outside or playing inside and covering backs and tight ends, so the transition should be seamless. With Deone Bucannon healthy now and Karlos Dansby also at inside linebacker, it allows Reddick the freedom to kick out and rush the passer.

I think his OLB responsibilities will be limited to "go get the QB" -- trying to put much more on him than that, given he is still learning the nuances of what he needs to do as an ILB, would be very challenging and a recipe for some big blown coverages.

This is where Reddick belongs.

Weird that with only Jones, Martin and Reddick as OLBers, the Cardinals allowed the Jets to poach OLB Obum Gwatchum from their PS today. Is Scooby Wright really more important, need-wise? I love Scooby on STs, but 3 OLBers on the roster of a 34 defense is bizarre. Plus, Scooby isn't going to get any snaps on defense.

The odd roster decision making continues.

Still pissed about Cap Capi and Ulrich John.

Unpopular, but I would rather Reddick stay at ILB with Buc & continue to learn at that position. Just start Kareem. Dansby shouldn’t be playing.

I think Kareem is the starter and Riddick will be in certain OLB packages.

I think Reddick can be dynamic rushing the passer, so definitely want to see that part of his game. I would imagine he will split time with Martin (playing mostly on running downs).

Reddick lacks ILB instincts...he's always thrived on the edge. The Cardinals have to stop switching young players to new and awkward-fitting positions.

Lol...Cards putting a player who was playing out of position back, so they can insert another player out of position. :)

I hope this is one of those silver linings/happy accidents to Golden's injury that the team stumbles into Reddick being a dynamo pass rusher.

I get you, but I disagree somewhat. I think Buc would be an all-pro safety, so in that I think you and I agree. However we've done a much better job of shutting down more passes over the middle and to the TE since adding the $LB position, and I'm not sure anyone else on the team could play it but Buc. So I think for this specific defense to work best, he's properly positioned.

I'd agree it's his more natural position. Just that they were stacked there and needed an athlete at ILB, just in case DB had more problems. I think that next season they'll have a nice problem on his position again, but he'll see the field regularly.

Dansby is our best ILB — and it's not close.
Can you show me how? It’s like he’s been a step slow to almost everything this season. But hey, that’s just Father Time.

Good. Place him there and draft a real one next year. Let go Golden.

That s the position he belongs to
he offers a different arsenal of skillset then Chandler
He can avoid the block and outrun tackle and get to the qb
Is our von miller hopefully
Weight is almost the same, just 1 inch and half shorter

I don't know what you're seeing that would tell you otherwise? There's a reason that he's not coming off the field.

He might not be Patrick Willis in his prime, but Haason Reddick isn't making any plays, and Deone Bucannon doesn't make any plays. Last week Dansby had 2 run tackles averaging 3.5 YPC and was in 4 pass plays which yielded 3.5 YPA. Not sure what more you're looking for.

Probably because we don’t have anybody else & this coaching staff has a knack for starting really old players.

I guess we’ll agree just to disagree.

Our weakness is the defensive line
Outside of peters we have a mediocre group

I kept reading this thread title as "Reddick to IR". Must have PTSD from all the other "Player X to..." news we have had this season.

I think Mitch may well be right. Reddick is fast, quick and agile. It will be a tough transition as the NFL speed of game will confuse him at first, but I suspect this kid is that rare player who can play in or out. For those complaining about his early performance, he's fine. His role is different from college. He'll adjust.

Exactly what I am hopping to see!
