Uggghhhh... I suddenly have this damn pop-up asking me to download FLV Player. At the same time, I keep getting a bizarre pop-up, randomly, when I click on hot-links - even on pages on ASFN... The pop up is telling me I need to update my browser, etc...

I am on IE10 and run Windows 7. Microsoft Defender and McAfee both can't get rid of this adware/bug...
Anyone have any clues??

Thanks!

I use rkill first (to kill malware processes) and then Malwarebytes or Superantispyware.

LOL...

It's a major pain in the arse... Have tried several tools, including the one's suggested by BIM, and none work.

Pissing me off!

Switch to Chrome or Mozilla.;) Try Spybot Search & Destroy & Ad-Aware. Both are free downloads.

Have you tried turning your computer on and off again?

/s/ IT

Go to the Preferences file

Click on the pull-down menu

Find the option that says "nothing works right" and un-check it

Check ie plugins. Internet options: programs:extensions
Remove or disable any you don't recognize.

You can try microsoft security scanner.

It it is a pop up it has probably wormed into internet explorer.

Yea... it's a pop up... It only appears on certain sites... For instance, if I'm on facebook or my bank site, it's not there. But if I'm on azcentral or ASFN, or Google/Bing, or even when I went to download some anti-adware tools, it was there... Very shifty too as on the anti-adware sites, the annoying flashing "download" button would position itself right over/next to the proper download button for the anti-adware tool.

On azcentral, it's consistently trying to get me to download FLV Player -whatever the hell that is...

Have you tried a system restore to a date before all of this happened?

Did someone really suggest we should stop surfing porn? What would I need a Mac paperweight for?
