Considering he's the top rated player in 09 and UCLA has offered 3 other bigs in that class already(the Wear twins and Reeves Nelson) and several other Pac 10 schools have offers out, it was unusual Sidney had zero offers. Reportedly Ohio State has now offered him.

They'd been rumored to be getting in with him. Mixed reviews for him at the Reebok event, Seth Davis said he was unimpressive and seemed disinterested and lazy at times, and couldn't make any shots. NBAdraftnet says he was the best player at the camp, but was selfish, and his attitude reminds people of Zach Randolph(that's who i've compared him to as a player for awhile).

Sidney has been saying UCLA led for awhile and was recruiting him the hardest, while UCLA recruiting guys insisted UCLA wasn't actively recruiting him just tracking him (again they've offered THREE bigs in his class but not him), now he says Ohio State is his leader.

His recruitment is going to get Mayo good I can just sense it.

That's because Reebok gave his undeserving Dad a job and he's an NCAA investigation waiting to happen. ASU fan seem to think they have a shot due to Scott Pera, but somehow I doubt that Sidney's Dad who moved him to LA to get more exposure is going to let his son practice at a high school gym his one year getting ready for the pros.

Very talented kid though, but probably more trouble than he's worth. I'm guessing he'll end up at one of the usual suspects - USC, Ohio State, wherever Bob Huggins is coaching, etc.

Dreaming is free I suppose, and a lot more pleasant than the thought that ASU is staring down another last place finish in the Pac 10. :)

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that USC has NOT offered him yet. As we've been saying on the UCLA board whenever someone complains we should offer Sidney, "if Tim Floyd hasn't offered him yet you KNOW there is something really wrong there." It's definitely not grades, USC has now lost THREE recruits for the 07 season due to academics, Leonard Washington(rumored to UK qualified or not), Donte Smith(didn't get a waiver stuck in JC one more year), and Angelo Johnson(didn't get SAT score, needs miracle grades in the summer or else at best might be eligible mid season ala Gabe pruitt last year). Tim Floyd clearly doesn't steer away from prospects with bad grades so a kid as good as Sidney MUST have much bigger questions.

Nobody seems to clarify, we all assume it's his father, but the rumored TOSU
offer is apparently the first one.

Unless something dramatic changes I'd be surprised if any Pac 10 school offers him, they're clearly all afraid of him or his dad.
