Despite the Oakland A's attempt to get their 2018 draft pick Kyler Murray to stick with baseball - in the form of financial enticements - Murray declared football to be his true love and the professional career he'd pursue. In the short term, at least, it worked out: on Thursday night the Heisman Trophy winner was chosen with the first pick in the 2019 NFL draft. And while Murray has said multiple times that he's dedicated to football, the Cardinals are still going to protect themselves in case he changes his mind.
