The Milwaukee Brewers are looking for help anywhere they can get it, and they are reportedly advancing to bring in an arm to help the rotation. MLB’s Jon Morosi reports that the Brewers and Cincinnati Reds are having ongoing trade talks about Reds starter Matt Harvey. Harvey was acquired earlier this year in a trade between the New York Mets and the Reds. Cincinnati sent oft-injured catcher Devin Mesoraco and cash to the Mets for the then ailing Harvey. Although Harvey has put up solid numbers since joining the Reds — a 4.50 ERA in 68 innings — many advanced metrics don’t support the improvement to his game. FIP rates Harvey at 4.61 and DRA shoots his run average to 5.24, well above league average.
