The language in the roughing-the-passer rule is unlikely to change when the NFL's competition committee speak during its conference call next week, reports the Washington Post. According to the report, some members of the competition committee want the rule to be applied differently for the rest of the season. Over the past few weeks, the rule has centered around Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, who has been called for 15-yard roughing the passer penalties in each of the first three weeks of the season.
