After failing to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the Atlanta Hawks made a change in the front office with the firing of GM Landry Fields. The Hawks fell in the play-in tournament twice as they fell to the No. 7 seed Orlando Magic on the road and then the No. 10 seed Miami Heat at home as their season came to an end.

The Hawks will now begin a search to replace Fields and Philadelphia 76ers GM Elton Brand's name has popped up. Brand has been Philadelphia's GM since September of 2018 and he orchestrated big moves such as acquiring Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris to put the Sixers in a position to contend in the 2018-19 season.

Per Marc Stein, Brand is expected to be among a slew of candidates to replace Fields in Atlanta.

Sixers executive Elton Brand is expected to be among the candidates pursued by Atlanta as the Hawks begin their search for a new lead executive, league sources @JakeLFischer and me.

Brand is still very much involved in Philadelphia's decision-making along with President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey. If he were to leave for the Hawks, the Sixers would be losing a key piece of their front office.
