The Tennessee Titans have made a few moves this week to improve their roster for the 2025 season. However, there is still a ton of work to do as they work to improve on their 3-14 record from 2024.
One area that is in dire need of improvement is the receiving corps. After watching fan favorite Nick Westbrook-Ikhine sign with the Miami Dolphins, the Titans moved quickly to add former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Van Jefferson on a one-year deal.
Jefferson is a solid receiver who should be a valuable rotational piece. In 2024, he pulled in 24 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns. But he is better suited to be a depth piece than a true No. 2 playing opposite Calvin Ridley.
There is little doubt that the Titans will be looking to add depth and playmakers to the receiving corps. On Friday morning, a report surfaced that Tennessee may have interest in one of the biggest names out there: Tee Higgins.
Landing Higgins may be a long shot. The veteran receiver has been franchise-tagged by the Cincinnati Bengals for a second time, and it will take a haul to acquire him on top of his contract demands. Still, the interest in Higgins makes sense, considering he is extremely familiar with head coach Brian Callahan and the offensive system.
Higgins is dynamic and productive, although he is a bit injury-prone. When he is healthy, he is a complete game-changer and can make an impact. He missed five games in 2024 and still pulled in 73 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. However, he missed at least five games in the second consecutive season.
The Bengals really don’t want to part with Higgins, but with their salary cap limitations, they might be willing to move him if the right deal comes along.
