Michigan State's 2024-25 season came to an end in a very heartbreaking way, losing to Cornell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Spartan fans were gifted with some very nice news to pick up their spirits a day later. Michigan State has reportedly landed one of the most sought after prospects on the market right now.

Cayden Lindstrom, a Canadian born player currently playing major junior hockey for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL, was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. After a back injury took him out of action for 2024-25, he extensively considered the college hockey route, one that is not very common for Canadian major junior hockey players.

After going through the recruiting process, reports are indicating that Lindstrom will be heading to East Lansing.

Nothing official, but told #CBJ Cayden Lindstrom, the 4th overall selection last June, is likely headed to @MSU_Hockey to play next fall.

Many locals hoped Lindstrom would stay close and attend @OhioStateMHKY, but other schools made earlier and stronger recruitment pushes.
