It was kind of weird to watch the refs scratch up the ice to get rid of the blood stains. Do they always do that?

They do in rec hockey. I don't think I've seen anything really bloody when at an NHL game but I would expect that they do the same. The blood is frozen, you just scratch it off, push it to the side.

I guess it's good they do that, but it's kind of odd to watch...like they're destroying evidence or something.
