With all of the change coming to Xavier basketball upon the hiring of Richard Pitino, one familiar assistant coach will still be around.

Dante Jackson, a guard for the Musketeers from 2007-2011 who was originally hired as part of Travis Steele's staff in 2018, will be retained by Pitino, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

Isaac Chew, Aaron Katsuma, and Tarvish Felton --- who were on staff with Pitino at New Mexico --- will also be on staff with the Musketeers.

Pitino is bringing assistants Isaac Chew, Aaron Katsuma and Tarvish Felton from New Mexico to Xavier.

Jackson was also a graduate assistant for Xavier from 2012-2014 before assistant-coaching stops at Northern Kentucky, Air Force and Robert Morris.

Jackson, a Sean Miller-recruit from McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio, played in 137 games with Xavier, making 88 starts. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game over four seasons and was a part of 107 wins, including seven in the NCAA Tournament.

As a player, Jackson went to the Sweet 16 three times, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2008. As a coach, Jackson was on Miller's staff for a Sweet 16 appearance in 2023.
