A few weeks back, my Dad passed away after having a massive stroke. He will be missed sorely, but is finally reunited with my Mom, the love of his life. He was a diehard Cardinal baseball fan since childhood, and I convinced him in the early 60's that we should be Cardinal football fans too. He and my Mom were an awesome pair: 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. I was his only son, so we had a special father-son bond. For his funeral, all the men in the family wore Cardinal ties, and the women wore red corsages. As the only son, my Dad & I wore matching ties, with the other men in the family wearing a separate Cardinal tie. I have already instructed my wife that, when it's my time to leave, to bury me in that same tie. A great man, a great Cardinal fan. May he Rest In Peace❤️

Deepest condolences to you and your family. I lost my father less than a month ago, so I know the pain you are going through

It's never easy but he should be watching some great baseball! Go Cards! They should have some Rebird all-star team up there. I'm a Cards fan both ways as well.

Condolences to you and you family in this time.

He was a baseball Cardinals fan too and, like me, became a follower of the Redbird football team as well when they moved to the valley. Cherished memories, including watching football with him through the years, remain after almost 26 years now.

I hope and pray those same sorts of memories will sustain you as you continue to travel this life until the day when you are with him and your beloved mother one day.

So sorry for your loss.

May he rest in peace. My wife recently lost her grandfather. He was a good man.. took care of his family, I got to know him for 6 years and he taught me a lot of stuff related to carpentry, handyman, etc. He was a Buffalo Bills fan but I won't hold that against him. May both of these fine gentlemen rest in peace.

PACardsFan - So sorry for your loss. Praying for your entire family.

P.S. Did I read that correctly? You grew up with 7 sisters? How was that?! :)

Hey! PACARDSFAN. The loss of a loved one is one of the toughest things we will ever face in this life. It's the wonderful memories of our time spent with them that make us smile whenever we think of them. ...And those will ALWAYS be with you. My dad is now 83 and my mom has been gone some 20+years. My wife's dad just turned 88 this past Sunday and her mom is turning 84 soon. Their time to go home will come, too. It's life.

But, I will always remember my dad taking me to see the Cardinals when they were staying at the Red Bull In in Waterbury, Ct. Yankee Stadium was being renovated and the Giants were playing their home games in the Yale Bowl in New Haven. Ct. that year. What a thrill to meet my heroes! Just one of many GREAT memories!

So, celebrate your dad's life and all the things that you shared!

God Bless you and comfort you with His promises.
