One of the handful of truly great artists among American filmmakers... and one of my all-time personal favorite filmmakers. I had heard he was recently in poor health but didn't realize it was so dire. RIP to a true visionary.

I remember the moment he truly had me in Twin Peaks: When Coop sets up the bottles to throw rocks at to make decisions, and Sheriff Harry S. Truman goes along with it. Just rolling with the weird. I dug that.
