RIP to "The Logo." One of the best players to ever play the game and a fantastic executive.

Dang... another legend of the sport. Just weeks after Bill Walton. RIP, Jerry... an absolute NBA icon.

RIP to The Logo.

"The Logo" has to be amongst the coolest, most unique, and badass nicknames for a person ever. He was way before my time but I've seen a lot of his highlights and clips from Hardwood Classics and he's definitely deserving.

I loved watching him play when I was young. Him and Elgin Baylor on the Lakers, Wilt the Stilt, Big O. All of them, even though only got to see them a couple of times on TV.
Yeah we didn't get to see very many NBA games back in the 60's. I think I saw the Harlem Globetrotters play more often than I did any NBA team until we got our own team in the valley.

If you haven’t seen Winning Time on HBO about the Lakers ascension in the 80’s I highly recommend it.

The actor who portrayed Jerry West in Winning Time, Jason Clarke, did an amazing job.

I enjoyed that series also but apparently West hated his portrayal. He considered suing at one point and was one of the first people portrayed to speak out against it.

It's entertaining but shouldn't be taken definitively.

I remember him being livid when it came out which is on brand for him.

You’re right, a lot was sensationalized but he was a hot head.

Regardless, he was a tremendous basketball player. R.I.P. Jerry West

I don't remember how many times I saw the Celtics and 76ers play, but I was amazed Bill Russell could guard Wilt Chamberlain.

Chamberlain was like a modern day Goliath with skills.
