Richard Belzer, comedian and 'Law & Order: SVU' actor, dies at age 78

Richard Belzer, the comedian and actor best known for playing the acerbic Detective John Munch across a number of NBC crime dramas, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," over more than two decades, has died, according to his longtime manager. He was 78.

I find it strangely coincidental that Fin on SVU was reminiscing about Munch during the latest SVU episode and Belzer died the following weekend. I am sure that episode was shot months ago.

Loved his comedy as well as his acting. Henry Winkler's cousin. He was in Night Shift with Winkler and Winkler was on SVU.

Yeah, a number of people commented on that - I would imagine that Ice-T knew the end was near for him, and wanted to include something in the show.
