Listen, there are lots of ways to get Kobe to the Suns.
1. Force a sign and trade. If Kobe tells the Laker's he's going anyway, then at least they don't have to lose both Shaq and Kobe. They can pick up Shawn Marion. It could be worse.
2. Utah has all kinds of money and no players. Trade Eisley to Utah along with a pick. That gives us near max money. Trade Eisley, a pick and Casey. That gives us plenty and Casey is a cheap pick up, they like Eisley, and the Chicago pick would look good.
3. Trade Marion to Utah for a second round pick in 2153. For Utah, it would be like picking up Marion in free agency. For us it would be like a sign and trade. We would open up about $17 million with that. We could sign Kobe and Dice.
All it takes is to convince Kobe to play in Phoenix. If Kobe wants to be here, we can find a way to work out the rest.
But this is the same for any of the free agents. My preference would be to target someone like Rasheed Wallace in a similar fashion.
