My Top 20 in no particular order

These are the players that I think will not be available to the Cardinals at #20 for various reasons that are moot towards the question at hand.

With these 20 players off the board, give me your draft pick.

Slight Exception: You have to give me a player, but if you would prefer to trade down you can at least state, but again as stated you still have to give a name of a player you would pick at #20.

For Example if you want to trade down instead of selecting a player, then your answer to the question would be

1A. Trade Down
1B. Player you would be forced to choose if you could not trade down.

My "Top" 20 [Again, in no particular order]:

J.Clowney, DE
K.Mack,DE
S.Watkins,WR
J.Matthews, OT
H.Clinton-Dix,S
C.Pryor,S
T.Lewan,OT
G.Robinson,OT
J.Gilbert,CB
D.Dennard,CB
M.Evans,WR
K.Fuller, CB
A.Barr,DE
E.Ebron,TE
A.Donald,DE/DT
R.Hageman,DT
B.Bortles,QB
J.Manziel,QB
T.Bidgewater,QB
D.Carr,QB

So if all these players were off the board. Who would you pick at #20 ?

And no, there will not be a poll. Just type a name. Defend the pick if you want.

Zero chance IMWO that the Players will be available to us.

The others I do believe there is a chance and I'm all about trading down because of the depth of this draft and the fact that we don't have a glaring hole on the team. Yes Safety and Pass Rusher are obvious areas of opportunity but we have players in place.

Give me Ford or Shazier or Van Noy.

It would likely come down to a choice of Kony Ealy, Shazier, Roby, or Zack Martin and maybe Stephon Tuitt. I'm not sure who I like best out of that group so I'd look to trade down although I doubt there'd be a lot of takers.

How can they all be off the board? Wouldn't one of them have to be available?

The point is moot, and the question is at hand. You have an answer or just complaints ?

That's exactly what I was thinking

See above.

I would definitely take Zach Martin, as he can play both OT and OG. And while I have hopes that BOTH Massie/Solwell and Watford can do the job, we will be taking a big chance that will happen, so we would have an insurance policy.

I would say CJ mosely and no complaints just what the point when we have the 20th pick you may as well put 30 names there and say don't pick one of these.

1st, thanks for the answer.

2nd, Agreed with the bold.

But, my question, my thread and with all due respect to everyone, I really don't care if anyone doesn't understand why.

If someone doesn't like the question, then don't answer, simple. If you do, all I am asking for is a name.

Odell Beckham Jr WR LSU

the popular thinking is that we go defense with this pick in which case I do like Ryan Shazier,...but Shazier is a slight reach at 20, whereas Beckham offers solid value and provides us a safety net for our pending Larry Fitz situation.

I hope the Cards take the BPA on their big board at 20 regardless of position.

To be fair, I counted the names as well and thought the same thing. But I respect your "peramiters of your OT". :)

So with that in mind. It's Zach Martin. Our OT woes are a thing of the past! :D

Where's the poll!?

This. I think that Zack Martin would be the BPA, but he'd be the best tackle available. I think you could get good trade value out of that situation and let teams pick some highly rated prospects that don't have as much value to us as we might like.

Stephon Tuitt DE-DT Notre Dame-he can give Dockett or Campbell breathers along with Rucker so Cards can have both CC and DD available with some gas still in the tank in the crunch time late in games.
Plus gives Tuitt valuable experience .
Tuitt by a hair over Shazier because Cards can still get a pass-rusher in rd 2,might not be a elite guy but there are still guys available (Lawrence,Marcus Smith ,Attaochou,Etc).
Tuitt is one of the better prospects at DE and although Cards can get DEs later in the draft (Urban,Hart,Chris Smith,Clarke,Mauro,Stinson) Tuitt is just a better prospect with a upside.

Ok since snark is apparently the word of the day, than my answer is that one of those 20 guys in that list will fall to 20 and we should take him.

What has me excited is I dont think I am going to be upset with whoever

they pick at 20. The players I LOVE are already going to be gone. However

there is still players I like. I get this feeling in my stomach that if Pryor

is there he is the pick. However in this scenario he is gone so to answer

your question: Ryan Shazier. I like Ealy but neither Kiper or the NFL Path

to the Draft crew even has him in the first round. Kiper has us getting Carr

and the other crew has us selecting Teddy.

I like Shazier....dude is a heat seeking missile out there and I would be happy with the pick.

The only real issue I have with the guy is kinda silly I guess....

up until a few weeks ago, everyone had us taking Shazier......in the second round. I see now on the CBS board he is listed at 23 overall...has his stock really climbed that much? or have folks been looking at the workout numbers so long they are becoming enamored with the numbers and not the overall player/body of work?.... IMO Ryan Shazier is a slight reach at #20, not a huge reach, but slight...I would not be upset because I think he can be really good on our defense...but if we do not take him there I expect he will be drafted between 29-45..................with all of the issues they are having right now I am fairly certain SF would jump all over him

No brainer.

You take Dee Ford, who is the third best OLB conversion, fourth best pass rusher on the board.

Dial up the tape of Auburn vs. Texas A&M, and tell that Dee Ford wouldn't be great defending the likes of Kaepernick and Wilson.

My next choice would between Kyle Fuller and Jason Verrett. You can never have enough corners, and both have strengths. If you want more of the outside guy, take Fuller. If you want a slot guy take Verrett.

Also, a trade down is a significant option. I think you can trade down 10 spots, get one of the remaining players you like and add a 3rd rounder.

EDIT: I just noticed you had Fuller on the list!!! Verrett would be my guy if I'm standing pat, though the Cardinals get real small at the position with two 5'9 guys in Mathieu and Verrett behind PP21 and Cro.

I really like Tuitt, but I think he's not a good value at #20. I'd trade down if Tuitt is the guy. He is made to order for this defense; he's much closer to Calais Campbell than to Darnell Dockett, and I mean that in a good way.

You may be on to something though; if the Cardinals really believe that they need to address DE early, than it would be smart to take one in round 1 and wait on edge rusher until later. There is a bigger fall off from Tuitt to Urban and Co. than from Dee Ford to Demarcus Lawrence in my opinion.

Even if Shazier is a slight reach I dont mind at all. Why? Because at pick 20

there are scouts/experts/ who would say the same thing about

Ealy, Ford, Pryor, Fuller, Hageman, Tuitt, Carr etc. So under the

circumstances I am cool with any of these guys. I would like to see

them trade down and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder myself.
