Robert Nkemdiche does not have a character issue, a family issue, or a issue with hanging out with the wrong people... Carson Wentz does, his friend and mentor is freaking Ryan Lindley and that to me would have been a big red flag waiving on a mountain top lol

Couldn't make it as a player, but maybe a great coach.....

Saying goes those that can't teach, no matter what we think of Lindley the QB maybe he has something to offer these guys as a coach/mentor type failure can be a teaching moment, and he has many of them.

Great players usually make terrible coaches. It's the marginal players that have the most to teach,

and coaching is more about communication skills than anything. Lindley is pretty sharp and a very good communicator.

Even if we landed Peyton Manning back when, his offensive line of Adam Snyder, Nate Potter, Paul Fanaika, Bradley Sowell and the like would have done him in too. Lindley was bad to start, got thrown into a roaring fire, and cooked.

There was a thread about Matt Barkley where I made these same comments:

Yes, Ryan Lindley, when under center, in an NFL game was terrible. That is what the fans see, and that is all we see. Lindley's problem was he had no composure once his adrenaline kicked in.

So, why on earth was Lindley a QB in the NFL so long, and why do I state, Ryan Lindley will get another NFL job this year ?

The disconnect between the college game, and the NFL game is very real. As a fan I have 100% under valued the ability of a QB to do some very necessary things as a QB.

- Call the play
- Handle the huddle
- Make sure everyone is lined up correctly
- Make the right reads, and audibles

Sounds basic, sounds silly, but time and time again, these types of quarterbacks find work in the NFL.

Ryan Lindley may not be able to hit the broad side of the barn, or keep his composure, but he can manage the game on the field. Thus I think Lindley would be a great coach for future NFL prospects.

And sometimes a guy sucks on the field and sucks off the field contemplating the position because he sucks at QB... and even Skelton showed more than him to suggest he knew what the hell he was doing

I know a guy who was a young back-up to B-Lindley at SDSU and he said RL was a douche-nozzle. Said coaches asked him to be mentor for the young guy and RL basically told him (the guy I know)to screw off. He eventually transferred to a smaller school back east after an injury.

There is a natural human tendency to think that someone who is great at something is a great mentor for others.

That's almost never the case.

First of all their egos don't usually lend themselves to helping anyone achieve what they did it's a simple competitive thing. That and being so gifted they couldn't possibly pass that on to someone else.

Bad players often had to work 10 times harder and know 10 times more to approach the level of other players if you gift even an average player with that kind of knowledge and dedication it can rise them up a wrung or two on the ladder and what else is coaching but that?
