The Suns lost nine of their first 14 games in December but have since recovered to win three of four, including an 113-109 victory in Sacramento on Tuesday.
Stoudemire is averaging 26.4 points on 68.3 percent shooting in the last four games.
Phoenix, opening a three-game homestand that also features matchups with Miami and Milwaukee, will likely need to perform better defensively that it did Saturday, when it yielded its most points at home all season.
The Suns would seem to stand a good chance of containing the Rockets (20-15), who haven't reached 100 points in their last three games

Game starts in a hour.
My guess: Suns win by 2 points

The second nights of back-to-back games have been cruel to Phoenix, which is 1-6 and has lost five in a row in those games. The Suns' only win was at Philadelphia, and the first game of that set was a day game.
Second wind

At 35, Steve Nash's statistics put him well above other point-guard greats who were starters at that age.
Nash entered Tuesday averaging 18.4 points and 11.2 assists with shooting percentages of 53.9 from the field, 43.5 on 3-pointers and 93.4 on free throws. Each number is better than what Jason Kidd and John Stockton did at 35 or when Magic Johnson ended his retirement at 36.
• A Sports Illustrated
poll asked 171 players, "Who do you want on the line at the end of a game?" Nash got the most votes, with 33.9 percent. Kobe Bryant was second (23.4 percent).

The Suns built a 16 point lead in the first 5 minutes of this game. That lead was down to 4 two minutes later. The Rockets did not start this game well, but we let them gain confidence and now they can't miss.

I am so sick of the suns up and down. Boneheaded crap always seems to happen, turnover here, butterfingers there, got the rebound. . . oh whoops lost it. Screw this crap. They suck.

Down by 16 now after leading by 16 earlier. 32 points swing in about 14 minutes.

whatever happened to earlier in the year when we crashed all five on the boards every shot up. y'd we go back to this leaking out crap that always results in a nash turnover?

wow, just wow. Amare sucks, take him out...this is pathetic. Yesterday, he has one rebound in 3 quarters, and than 7 in one. WTF?!? I just saw someone 4 inches shorter than him scramble and get the rebound. Absolutely ridiculous.

Nice job by the Suns to get back into this game.
