In the first match of the season, Roma beat Palermo. Roma scored three minutes in and coasted after their second goal in the first half.

Palermo, in pink and black, hit the crossbar and the post, but looked outclassed.

Totti is damn good. Giuly, the guy from Barca, is also very good.

I forgot that Giuly moved to Roma. I liked him a lot when he was at Barca.

BTW, it was a disappointing 0-0 draw for Barca against Racing.

Bummer.

And it was fun to hear the Palermo fans express their hate for Totti every time he touched the ball which was quite often.

I've been to the Stadio Olimpico several times as a supporter for a different club (Fiorentina) and once as a neutral spectator and never had a problem. Of course, it wasn't a UEFA cup game or a Champion's League game......every game I've been to has been for a domestic match.
The crowds there have been getting more "passionate" through the years though. I don't agree with banning Roma from European play just because of their fans. If things are getting this bad, they should move the game to a different city. I've seen this tactic work in Mexican and Argentinian soccer before when a team's fanbase has gotten a bit too unruly.

All pleasure. A week in Roma. Few days in Bologna, and a few in Venice. So nice....

Damn am I jealous... Love Roma! Love Bologna. Venezia is good for 1 night only... I prefer to spend more time in other northern towns like Fiorenze, Parma, Milano, Portofino... Venice is way, way overrated and depending upon the water levels, it smells like a sewer!

I am hoping porcinis are in season!

That would be oh so nice! Be sure to enjoy a big bowl of spinach pasta a la Bolognese when in Bologna!
If you do decide to go to Venezia, certainly stay with seafood there...
But I would highly encourage you to hit Parma and grab a lunch of incredible Proscuitto di Parma and a variety of cheeses!!!
Of course, in Fiorenze the pizza is all-world... and with a bottle, or two... or three, of Chianti - wow...!

So jealous!!!!
