Roy Green held several team receiving records when he retired despite being full-time DB 1st 2 yrs. one of NFLs greatest athletes.

Roy Green, who started his NFL career as a defensive back before moving to receiver, will be inducted into the Cardinals Ring of Honor during the upcoming season.

A news conference with Green and team President Michael Bidwill is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. Green will be the 16th member of the Ring of Honor, and the first who played with the team in St. Louis and Arizona.

How awesome must it be, for an old timer like Green, to be honored by his once-maligned franchise after they have risen to become one of the best-run, most talented, most fun-to-watch, teams in the league? In arguably a top 2 or 3 stadium in the league? To be honored by Michael Bidwill, perhaps picked up in his private jet to be brought in for the ceremony? Rather than Bowtie Bill sending him a Greyhound ticket and invoicing him for it? Damn it's a great time to be a Cardinal, former Cardinal, or Cardinal fan! C'mon boys, let's make this transformation complete, bring home the Lombardi this year!

The Cards just had an event where a lot of former players were invited and Roy was one. I'm glad to finally see him make it in. Lomax, Jake Plummer, Jim Hart, Mel Grey, OJ Anderson, and a slew of players from the St. Louis and early Arizona days belong in. This team had a lot of great, great players who deserve recognition from this franchise.

Bout damn time my fav Big Red player has gotten in! :D Thank you Michael for honoring #81 my man.

I used to luv how he torched the hate Cowpies & I still say he was just as fast as Darrell Green without even eaten those damn tootsie rolls lol

I still sport my Jetstream jersey here in Big D occasionally just to see an old Cowpie fan twitch in fear :D

A long time for this to happen. Should have happened years ago but glad it did. Still remember the 107-108 yrd kickoff return he did against the Cowgirls.
