Our Corporate Offices are in the Cleveland area & there was a rumor spreading that there was a trade brewing between the Browns & Cardinals. We would package Honey Badger & our 15th overall pick to move up into Cleveland’s 4th slot. The word was that Cleveland sorely needs veteran leadership in their secondary. Just a rumor. I can’t imagine Cleveland would be that stupid.

If they target a guy sure they have to find a way to anticipate the denver Broncos selection and I think Cleveland are willing to trade down
But now way the only matthieu and his fat contract can put us in the condition to complete this trade
Maybe adding picks
1st 15+ Mathieu+2nd round pick and next year first

That makes more sense especially to move up to #4.

I guess I'd do it for what's laid out in the OP... but probably not.

The added benefit would be shedding HB's salary here, but giving up anything past next year's second rounder on top of that, and I'm not okay with it.

Not happening unless we throw in, at a minimum, another first rounder in addition to Honey Badger + first rounder. That is 2 first rounders + Honey Badger.

Source of the rumor? Local sports radio? Fan forum post? Newspaper? Someone next to the copy machine waiting his turn to print?

Our first, HB and next year’s 2nd would be a pretty solid deal to get to fourth if they loved the QB who was still there... and isn’t Allen.

I think you have to make that move just to get rid of the salary. That being said, I don't think the QB who we would get would be anything special.

Cleveland has the cap space to do it. It's feasible. The trade would have to be done the first day of the new year, March 14th, when TM is due his $5M roster bonus. Can't see the Cardinals paying that and then trading TM.

However, why take on TM's $14M a year salary when at #4 they could draft one of the more talented and versatile CB/Ss to come out in years in Minkah Fitzpatrick?

I guess the Browns could see it as 2 for 1: TM + whomever they pick at #15.

HB is my favorite player, so I don't like it. But from an objective football perspective I'd consider it... not until draft day though.

That would be an absolute steal for us. Badge isn't even the same player anymore. Not to mention we already have his replacement in Baker.

I would do that trade so quick, the pen would burn a hole in the paper lol

For those of you saying bad for Cleveland...delete your posts and stay quiet, so their lurkers don't catch on.

To Mitch...maybe the Cards eat the $5 million, in exchange for NOT giving up additional picks.
