Rush

Release Date: September 20, 2013 (NY, LA; wide: Sept. 26 - p.m. screenings)
Studio: Universal Pictures
Director: Ron Howard
Screenwriter: Peter Morgan
Genre: Action, Drama
MPAA Rating: R (for sexual content, nudity, language, some disturbing images and brief drug use)

Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, Stephen Mangan, Christian McKay, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jamie de Courcey, Pierfrancesco Favino, Natalie Dormer

Plot Summary: Two-time Academy Award® winner Ron Howard ("A Beautiful Mind," "Frost/Nixon"), teams once again with fellow two-time Academy Award® nominee, writer Peter Morgan ("Frost/Nixon," "The Queen"), on "Rush," a spectacular big-screen re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth ("The Avengers") as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl ("Inglourious Basterds") as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

I really liked the movie but his wife reminded me too much of my first wife. It was kind of scary.

If you enjoy racing, you will enjoy seeing RUSH

Producer Ron Howard does a fantastic job with this somewhat true story of two world class drivers in Formula 1.

Adrenaline pumping, sex, language, crash scenes......it has it all

5 Full Stars

That's too bad. it's a very good movie.

I am kinda a movie snob after working in Movie store liquidations for 2 years in the late ninetys. ive watched way too many movies. Since then it has to be something I really want to see for me to even bother.

Ive never been a "racing fan" I like fast cars and stuff but that is about as far as it goes.

The previews feel like a serious version of talledega nights to me and all I liked about that movie was the humor.

Maybe ill watch it on netflix one day.

yeah, the trailers definitely pump up the racing angle, but it's much more of a character piece then an action movie.

and I don't really care about racing at all, but the races are very well done...and not dragged out like most probably fear they are.

I truly can't stand racing. Yet this movie was awesome! Just FYI.

Meh, stupid, hated it, poop on this movie, you guys are all dumb for liking it, all babies are ugly and your mother is a hamster. /Mulli

JK, very good movie. I heard an interview with the real Niki Lauda and he said it was pretty much spot-on accurate every step of the way.

Amazing film! You definitely don't have to be a racing fan to enjoy this, I'm not a fan at all. The rivalry was insane.

Great score, great actions scenes, and great characters.

Over the last 200 films I've seen I've got this one ranked in the 85th percentile.

I have to say this movie surprised me a bit. The previews did it no justice and I was not interested. I wish I had gone to see it at the theater. I should no better about most Ron Howard films.
