Stop me if you’ve heard this before — Aaron Rodgers hasn’t signed with the Steelers because he’s waiting on the Vikings.
Old news may not sell papers, but apparently, insider Dianna Russini believes the Vikings haven’t completely shut the door on Rodgers in 2025 — and the four-time MVP may be holding out until Minnesota’s OTAs are complete.
The goal in waiting until the Vikings finish their offseason workouts is that Minnesota would have made a decision on 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy by that time.
According to Russini, who recently made an appearance on Colin Cowherd's The Herd, Rodgers wants a Tom Brady–like final Super Bowl chase:
“Minnesota needs to see something. I’m with you, I think Aaron Rodgers is definitely sitting back going, ‘I want to go to a place where I can drop right in like Tom Brady did in Tampa Bay and win a Super Bowl this year.’ I don’t think the Pittsburgh Steelers are built to win. The Minnesota Vikings are built to win.”
Russini then admitted that the Steelers had zero update on the Rodgers situation — which only further fuels the fire that Pittsburgh should simply move on from Rodgers in 2025.
