I'm inventing a rumor, Michael Floyd for Ben Tate.

lets see how long until it's on PFT and ESPN.

Some Practice Squad guys:

Bobby Rainey- ran for 4,523 yds and 39TDs at Western Kentucky
Darren Evans-was Williams predecessor at Va Tech (Titans)
Dan Herron- a Cbus kind of guy (Bengals)
Chase Reynolds - (STL)
Davin Meggett - (Texans)
Jordan Todman (Viks)
Jeremiah Johnson- sure he's bounced around but for a guy 175 years old to still be in the NFL!

Powell looked great in preseason, but he's seemed tentative in regular season games. He appears to brace for too many hits instead of trying to run through the contact.

Any RB trying to run through the Cardinals offensive when there are no holes, I give the benefit of the doubt.

Cardinals not immediately exploring trades/signings for a RB after losing Williams for the season. Could seek out a veteran down the road

Looks like Chester Taylor will get another couple weeks to chill on his couch before he comes back here.

What's the rush? I mean, the position is only almost entirely depleted.

Sure, the Cardinals see no need to rush... it's not like the RBs have anywhere to run.

I wonder whether the Panthers would be willing to trade Tolbert? With Williams, Stewart, and Goodson on the roster they have an embarrassment of riches at the position.

Yes, makes one wonder whether he will ever be able to play a full season.

However, in the long run, this may turn out to be a blessing in disguise---he came back awfully fast from the patella tendon injury---now he gets to make the knee and his legs stronger (you know this kid's work ethic is off the charts). He should be able to build the shoulder back to full strength much quicker than the knee.

He got a good taste of what he's up against---and it may make him all the more hungry and confident.

Exactly.

It's not as if anyone who comes in this week is likely to be in the lineup come Sunday. We'll have three RB's and two FB's available Sunday and, don't doubt, they'll take a few visits soon.

WHIZ quote: “I feel good about the guys that we’ve got,” he said. “We’re always going to look to get better at every position and if that opportunity is there, then we’ll certainly try to act on that.”

Whiz's usual way of saying, "next man up" and keeping cards close to the vest.Terrific opportunity for the three RB's still standing.

still waiting to hear the injury, whiz said something about bones and connecting which makes it sound like a seperation. Only a grade 3 should end a season and honestly a grade 3 would likely end a career, I have had one myself and collisions on that shoulder are out of the question.

I think it's time to bring Hightower back

For some years I have thought NFL teams should have two good RBs and rotate them. Many have gone that route for some years. It is almost rare that a RB can go through a season without injuries. We knew at the start of the season Beenie was hurt and prone to injuries. I think we started the year knowing we would likely have a problem with RBs as Jefferson had just missed a full season with injuries. We have no one to blame but ourselves coming up short on RBs. There are probably more than one out there with experience in the NFL we can sign and sign we should sign. I sure would like to have that St Louis big RB who they have said they will release at the end of the year. We have had a horrible season running the ball so we can hardly get worse. It sure does hurt our passing game.

quotes and links?

At least RB's are usually plentiful and waiting for a chance to be signed. We might luck out and find one who is hungry enough to also be good. If we cannot run the ball at all then kiss all hopes of playoffs good bye.
