If this was a measuring stick game, the Cardinals came up short against one of the three top NFL teams.

This really showed the deficiencies in the offense, the offensive line and running game.

It may not help, but I believe it is now time to give Ryan Williams some playing time. I'm not saying he's the answer, but Rashard Mendenhall is nothing more than a short yardage back at this point in his career and 'we' obviously need more, a lot more, from the running back position. And no, I don't believe Alfonso Smith is the answer and Andre Ellington, as promising as he is, can't carry the full load.

For the love of God BA, take Ryan Williams out of the garage, and take him a test drive against Atlanta. The Falcons are tied for 21st in YPA defense at 4.2. With the extended time to prepare, this is the perfect opportunity to unveil a change IMO.

Like I said, it may not be the silver bullet. But shouldn't the Cardinals at least shake things up on offense and give R.W. SOME carries a week from Sunday?

Mendenhall showed poor vision last night. Granted most of the time he was hit before he could possibly do anything but on the one play we did block well for him he planned on going down beanie wells style instead of watching for the play where a small juke to the right he had a massive hole to run through.

There's been a lot of posts that indicate that RW isn't healthy. I don't see ANY reason not to play him if he's healthy. If he's a healthy inactive, then cut him.

In the last six weeks? His only action in the preseason was a handful of carries against guys currently working security at SwapMart. If he got injured during that, I haven't heard about it.

HELLO! They are saving RW to fill in for one of the RB's on the active roster that is not doing much of anything.

Interesting article! 'some in the organization' must not include Bruce Arians.

At some point you have to wonder whether BA's loyalty to Rashard Mendenhall is hurting the team. He's the prototypical "If there's 3 yards to gain, he gets you three yards; if there's 12 yards to get, he gets you 3 yards."

What's the old saying about the backup QB always being the fan's favorite player? Well, in AZ, it's the backup QB and 5th-string RB.

Mendenhall isn't healthy either. So why not play the unhealthy guy with some breakaway ability versus the unhealthy guy with no burst whatsoever?

At this point, I'm not against deactivating Mendenhall, putting in Williams as the 2nd option, and making Ellington the feature back.

Glad Mendenhall is not on the books after this season.

This is setting for the classic Cardinal move of drafting a RB in the first round, but 1) keeping the same OL 2) throwing the ball 70% of the time and 3) keeping the same crap OL.
