Salary Cap to Rise 7.7% to $63.2 Million

The good news that even with cap holds for Bledsoe and draft picks, the Suns will have roughly $26 million available for free agents. The bad news is that there will be a lot of other teams with available cap space too.

This summer is going to produce some pretty high free agent offers. With contracts shorter in duration, owners will offer higher amounts since there is less long term risk. I cannot imagine that Eric Bledsoe will not get a max offer seeing what free agents will be available and how much money will be there to spend.

I think the Suns would have been in a better position if the salary cap did not rise. It will probably reward teams that did not do a good job of managing salaries.

so what do we do with the cap? who do we target? Ryan reiterated in the last press conference that he has stated since day one that he wanted a superstar here.

Hopefully Miami gets beat badly early and the trio decides to break up. That would open up free agency a bit.
