I'm very interested in seeing this guy play some real games because at UT he had no help on the D-Line and still got pressure on the QB and would get into the backfield. I think the Cardinals got a major steal drafting him so late in the draft.

Hey man, in Madden 12 he has an A potential. That's all I need to know.

Just messin' with ya. :) Um, but he does have an A potential, so does Housler.

Depends on how we use him. He's bright. He's athletic. He's got the proverbial motor. But...

He'll be too thin at UT unless he was to gain 30 lbs or so.

He'd be too small to play 3-4 DE unless he was to gain 15 - 20 lbs.

Which puts him at OLB where he may be a step or two too slow to get to the QB.

More and more, I think he might be better suited at ILB.

Thanks Moe, LOL. I'm not off the mark when I say that before that disaster of a season the Longhorns had, Acho was spoken almost in the same light as Von Miller in the Big 12. A bad team can mask the value of a good player and that is something I felt happened to Acho. Don't know how many times I saw UT's undersized line get pushed around and still there was Acho making a play. The team would stink around him. The game would get out of control and still Acho would keep bringing it.

I like Acho as a 4-3 outside linebacker. I don't ever expect him to be a great passrusher, but he plays hard, tackles well and should be a solid player for us. We still need a passrushing outside linebacker in next years draft as well as an offensive tackle. Of course we have needed both now for the last five years and have still not made it a priority to fix this teams major weakness.

I am going to guess (and I have been wrong often) that next year Cardinals fans will see the offensive line and linebacker position addressed. We are young at QB, WR, RB, FB, TE, & CB. The only real positions that I can see us addressing in the first round are OT, OG, DE, ILB, OLB. I honestly would be shocked if we didn't address the OT position in the first round, but OLB is a possibility even though it is such as risky position to take high in the draft.

Someone forgot to tell Suggs his 40 time says he's too slow to rush the passer.

LOL, thanks Loyalty. Guess I'm going on record to say Acho can and will be able to rush the passer and from what I saw while he played at Texas, I see it as very possible. There Sam, I just cursed your tenure with the Cardinals haha

LaMarr Woodley isn't setting any speed records either and that's the position Acho is being groomed to play.

Sam Acho is Clark Haggans. I think he'll be a 7 sack per year guy once he gets acclimated to the defense and will be a VERY good run defender.

He'll never be an elite pass rusher, but he'll be the starter at SOLB for years to come.

All I know is I see him bull rush very well. The guys is very strong even as a rookie. I think he will be a solid pass rusher.

Agreed. I keyed in on him when he was on the field, and while he didn't get any sacks, he did move the tackle back to the QB quite a few times. Whether you get there or not, the QB is going to see that and want to unload the ball. That's pressure right there.

And that's one of the reasons I have a good feeling about Acho. While he doesn't have a ton of speed, he is strong and detail oriented and should be a solid starter once he has the defense down.

Bullrushing is an underrated ability of a 3-4 OLB; all of the best are able to do that to some degree.

There's a difference between speed (reflected by forty time),quickness (five or ten yd time) or agility.

Good pass rushers usually have the latter two (along with hand strength, closing-speed and at least a couple of stellar inside/outside moves).

Acho played on the line alot for UT against top flight talent. He showed remarkable ability to contain the run against much bigger OL men. He is a smart player that rarely is out of position, especially on contain assignments. He has a remarkable ability to keep track of the ball while occupied with a blocker and to get a hand or arm on a player.

While he is good as a rusher, his greatest skills are not as a bullrusher or with other rushing moves. He seems to have a good ability to watch a play develop and find rushing seams.

I think we will be happy with this player. He has an excellent head for the game and enough physical ability to make himself effective.

Watched him as a UT-EX and the dude is quick, I don't care what one says his 40 time is...his football speed is all out and he is very athletic. Combine that with him being a smart kid and I think the Cardinals got a steal.

I was largely right. Guy blew away my (and most everyone elses) expectations.

And now he and OBS are expected starters. hoo-yah
