I feel he is worth a look. I know he is on the down side of his career, but i feel he has another year or two left in him. :bhiich:

Normally, I would agree with you, but we already have a glut of DTs. Really, there's no point of even :bhiich:....

one more super-bowl winning veteran that plays the position of the 2 young pluggers can help their careers out a bunch. Adams also played in the 3-4 and help the cardinals make the transition. I think it would be a good move to sign this man.

Who do you cut to sign him? Clancy, Watson or Dockett? It would have to be one of those 3 because its not going to be Branch and I doubt we carry more than 4 DTs.

I say Calvin Pace. I may be wrong, but I don't think Adams is going to cost alot.

I was all for bringing this guy in a couple of times when he was a free agent. Not now though, I don't think he has enough left.

Pace is DE/OLB he in no way would affect Sam Adams status. Look again at DTs.

Why do I have to look again? you don't have to release the same position in order to sign the same position. It called making room with the salary cap to sign him.

I'd rather take a look at a LB in a simular situation..... someone who still has a little gas in the tank but isn't going to be a starter

Its called because we are not going to keep more than 4 DTs on this roster, so either Dockett, Watson, Clancy or Branch would eventually have to be released to make room for Adams.

I'm not even talking about salary cap room, he won't demand much but there is no way they keep 5 DTs with all the other depth issues on the team.

He's 33, been in the league 13 years, and by all accounts looked done last season. While I'm all for bringing in vets with good experience, I don't see him helping us at this point in his career.

Especially at his vet Minimum we dont even have room for 700+K to give.

We are trying to make room right now not eat up more of it. And cutting Pace will only pay for half of Adams vet min in the first place.

He doesn't even fit the 3-4 defense. Where do you want him to play? Besides, we already have enough DTs (Watson, Dockett, Branch, Clancy) on our roster right now.

Jonathon Lewis makes this team....we'll carry 5 DT's...although we may try and hide him on the PS this year.

Yes. That is where we need a few more sets of qualified guys to look at. I believe the front four is well set in starters and depth. On the same page.
