Morning workout
05/12/2007 12:39 PM

The Saturday morning practice was short and sweet. The tempo was as high as it could be with 85 players going through a 90 minute workout.

It was tough to draw too many conclusions from the practice, because most of the time was spent in individual drills.

One thing I've noticed from the few practices the team has had is that offensive line coach Russ Grimm doesn't appear to be a yeller and screamer. Some people had the impression that Grimm was going to breath fire and berate his players. Instead, Grimm has been a patient teacher, working diligently on improving technique problems.

The offensive play of the morning was a nice long pass from quarterback Matt Leinart to receiver Matt Trannon, a rookie free agent from Michigan State.

Defensively, there appears to be some loyalty to returning players. Kendrick Clancy lined up at starting nose tackle over rookie Alan Branch, the second-round pick. And Aaron Francisco was the starting free safety over Terrence Holt, a free agent acquisition from Detroit.

He does. Could just be a baggy jersey though.

He looks bigger.

He has been in Lotts program and hasnt been missed a single day from day one. If I heard Jurecki right the other day he is the only player that has done that. He has gained about 5-10 lbs of good muscle and is a little thicker this year.

Also in the same blog about by Sommers today Matt has also been working with the QB coach every day to improve his mechanics. Wiz commented on how much better his footwork looks this early in camp compared to last seasons games.

You know things have been bad for a LONG time, when we're discussing how much muscle our QB has added... Yikes...
I honestly couldn't care less how big Matty's biceps are... As long as he proves to be the type of leader we believe he is, and produces more W's than L's - heck, he can look like Pee Wee Herman for all I care...

I think he was mostly doing it to strengthen his shoulders after his injury he got last year. It started as a way of rehab on his upper body mosty his shoulders when the season ended and just grew form there.

But besides the muscle he has added I think the main point of the story is that he has been the main guy there from day one which shows me he has taken his leadership role very seriously. He has really grown in that spot this offseason.

Hopefully the tripping over the centers feet are over ...

That's not really the point I was getting at. People have been saying that Matt needed to put on more mass to take the pounding of the NFL. He has achieved that.

That combined with his dedication this off-season he is turning into the leader we all hoped he would be.

Those pics had me rolling over here. The pic with Levi stretching looking like he was modeling and the Father and Son pic of Warner and Leinart.

Someone needs to take that pic and photoshop him laying on the hood of a car. Levi Brown: NFL RT and Lowrider cover model.

After looking at Leonard Davis for so long, Levi Brown looks tiny.

Man Davis is FAT! Obvious from this photo he is also lazy and doesn't work out.

Looking at the pic of Brown and this one of Davis makes me ask if these guys carry a lot of extra weight during the season.
