It is heartbreaking, especially the young ones like Carrie Fisher and Prince.
But you also have to look at how media coverage since the 2000's has ramped way up. It seems like all these celebrities are dying more often only because there is more coverage. In the next 15 years, basically all the old hollywood legends and music icons will all be dying in a relatively short span of each other.
Al Pacino is 76
Robert Deniro is 73
Anthony Hopkins is 78
These 3 guys might die in the same month in 12 years, who knows.
