Now that Atlanta has no 1st... how about we offer a 2nd or a 3rd and BJ for Schaub?
kerouac9 said:They were offered Abraham for Schaub straight up, and passed. Why would they take less now? Why do you think that Bryant Johnson has any trade value whatsoever?
clif said:No IIRC they turned down Abraham for Schaub and a first. Now they got Abraham and are without a 1st they may want an extra second to move back into the first.
ESPN Insider Rumor Central said:Vikings eyeing Schaub
<Mar. 17> Since dealing Daunte Culpepper, the Vikings are now in the market for a quarterback and have inquired about Schaub, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Many teams have expressed interest in Schaub, but so far the Falcons have been reluctant to deal the promising backup quarterback. Atlanta doesn't consider Schaub untouchable, according to ESPN.com's Michael Smith, but they're inclined to sit back and wait for the right offer.
Before trading for Culpepper, the Dolphins offered Atlanta a second-round pick for Schaub. The Jets had been pushing the Falcons to include Shaub in a potential deal involving defensive end John Abraham, but instead opted to trade for Patrick Ramsey.
Abraham forced to wait
<Mar. 21> Although the Falcons and Jets remain in a stalement over a potential trade involving Abraham, neither side is giving up hope that a resolution can be reached.
"I know we're trying hard to satisfy all parties concerned," Falcons owner Arthur Blank told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I think John Abraham is satisfied, at this point. It's just a matter of us working something out with the Jets."
The Falcons have reached an agreement with Abraham on a multiyear contract, but the Jets rejected Atlanta's offer of a second-round pick. The deal with Atlanta would pay Abraham between $15 million and $18 million guaranteed.
Seattle, conversely, has finished the second half of the equation, but not the first. According to multiple reports, the Seahawks have agreed to send their first-round choice in this year's draft -- the 31st overall pick -- to the Jets for Abraham, but the three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher has resisted Seattle's advances on a long-term contract.
Because he is a franchise player and eligible for free agency in 2007, Abraham must come to contract terms with the team for which he would play. At the same time, the Jets don't want to give up Abraham without getting what they believe is fair compensation.
Abraham has also drawn interest from Denver, Cleveland and Detroit, but those teams appear to be out of the running at this stage.

Honestly, I expect to get a starting-caliber position player with that 41st overall pick, hopefully Abdul Hodge.

john h said:IMO Johnson is still a very good receiver and a very strong #3 for us. I hope we keep him. I think he would start for a number of teams.
He would start for the Eagles, I say we swap picks with them and give them Bryant and our 3rd for there #2. We would then get a starting quality players with both of the 2nd rounders. It is within 25pts on the trade value chart with BJ as a low 3rd rounder.kerouac9 said:Which ones? I'm not sure there's a team in the league that Bryant Johnson can start for, and I'm a fan of the guy. Maybe San Francisco, maybe San Diego, but even those are iffy.
