Tennessee will make its 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. The Vols (27-7) are a No. 2 seed and will compete in the Midwest Region.
Tennessee's first-round matchup is against No. 15 seed and Southern Conference Tournament champion Wofford (19-15). Tipoff between the Vols and Terriers is slated for 6:50 p.m. EDT at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The March Madness game will be televised by TNT.
The Vols will face Wofford in back-to-back seasons. Wofford lost at Tennessee, 82-61, on Nov. 14, 2023.
Tennessee enters the Wofford first-round contest with a 28-27 all time program record in the NCAA Tournament. Rick Barnes holds a 9-6 NCAA Tournament record at Tennessee, the most victories of any head coach in program history.
Barnes is also making his 29th appearance in the NCAA Tournament during his head coaching career, the fourth-most bids all time in Division I: Mike Krzyzewski (36), Jim Boeheim (35) and Roy Williams (30).
