It sounded like we were getting great pressure on the QB by the D-linemen, though they were said to be going against O-lineman who did not figure to make the club. Coach Mac just was complimenting the speed of the defense today , that they were closing down the plays very well.
McCown sounds as if he's made great strides this camp. Maybe he can become a viable back-up for the season.
For those who were there: other than Diamond, did anyone else on offense stick out (either good or bad) today?
I listened over the net and it sounded like there was a lot of pressure on all the qb's, and Bryant Johnson had a catch and was criticized for going out of bounds short of the 1st instead of trying to take on a db for the extra yard or 2.
It also sounded like Kasper was in the action alot and he had around three or four catches from McCown with two for first downs and 1 for 25 yards or so.
Early in the scrimmage, it sounded like Blake was getting big pressure from Pace and KVB on virtually every play. The only OL that they seemed to pinpoint as being abused was Kendrick Rogers, and Mistler made it clear he was not destined to make the team anyway.
I recapped the scrimmage and posted the play by play log on the BRS.
Bright spots - McCown. Kasper. Diamond on offense. Ken King, KVB, Pace, Marcus Bell and Eason on defense. (Didn't hear much about the LB's except Burton got a sack and Hayes looked pretty decent). Gramatica one today's battle vs. Duncan but both looked good and it's see-saw.
