PORTSMOUTH - The Portsmouth High School girls tennis team won five of its six singles matches, and swept doubles in an 8-1 Division II win over Oyster River on Thursday at Portsmouth High School.

Portsmouth is now 1-1 on the season.

Avery Porter (No. 1, 8-0), Elyse White (No. 3, 8-4), Clara Daw (No. 4, 8-3), Anna Syphers (No. 5, 8-2) and Lindsay Lee (No. 6, 8-0) all won their respective singles matches for the Clippers.

In doubles, Porter and White won 8-2 at No. 1, Aia Tracz and Daw won 8-6 at No. 2, and Syphers and Lee won 8-0 at No. 3.

Oyster River's Rose Goldsmith won 8-3 at No. 2 singles.

ROCHESTER - The Red Raiders evened their record at 1-1 with this Division I win.

In singles, Spaulding's Ashley Stewart (No. 3, 8-6), Sydney Daly (No. 4, 8-6) and Cameryn Boumel (No. 6, 9-7) won their respective matches.

In doubles, Stewart and Taitley Leslie won 8-4 at No. 2, and Daly and Arianna Therrien won 8-3 at No. 3.

AMHERST - The Warriors fell to 1-1 following this Division II loss.

MANCHESTER - The Saints improved to 2-0 with this Division III win.

In singles, Anna Seifert (No. 1, 8-2), Morgan Hoyt (No. 3, 8-6), Lillian Alonso (No. 4, 8-3), Lexi Smith (No. 5, 8-4) and Annabel Prochilo (No. 6, 8-4) all won their respective matches for the Saints.

In doubles, Hoyt and Smith won 8-6 at No. 2, and Prochilo and Anjali Maganti won 8-0 at No. 3.

BOYS TENNIS​

DOVER - Alex Molda and Aaron Molda each won their respective Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches, 8-0 for St. Thomas Aquinas in its season-opening Division III win.

Sam White (No. 3, 8-1), Ben Puertas (No. 4, 8-3), and Peter Latsilnik (No. 5, 8-6) also won in singles for the Saints. Trinity forfeited its matches at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

In doubles, the Molda brothers (No. 1) and White and Puertas (No. 2) won their respective matches by 8-0 scores.

TRACK​


Spaulding boys, girls both place second

LONDONDERRY - Both the Spaulding boys and girls track teams placed second in a three-team meet at Londonderry.

Londonderry won the boys meet with 100 points, while Spaulding (38) and Bishop Guertin (37) were second and third, respectively.

Spaulding's event winners included Brody Boston (300, 44.57 seconds), Eli Benjamin (high jump, 5 feet, 10 inches) and Jose Cuevos (discus, 96-3).

Londonderry won the girls meet with 85.5 points, and was followed by Spaulding (55.5) and Bishop Guertin (34).

Spaulding's event winners included Sophie West (200, 27.76), Sara Boudreau (triple jump, 30-3), Lela Takekoshi (pole vault, 7-6), Kaitlin Tallman (long jump, 15-0), Jailynn Jacobs (shot put, 26-6) and Abby MacMillan (javelin, 69-2).
