The Seattle Seahawks made a big move in NFL free agency to sign former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold to a lucrative three-year, $100.5 million contract. That did not stop them from using their third-round pick to take Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Milroe was drafted with the No. 92 overall pick by the Seahawks. Now, he'll look to work his way onto the field in the future.
Seeing both Milroe and Shedeur Sanders fall so far was a major surprise. Sanders still hasn't been drafted entering the fourth round.
Following his selection to Seattle and falling to the No. 92 pick, Milroe spoke out with a fiery three-word message.
"Belt to [expletive]," he said, as shared by B/R Gridiron.

Coming into the draft, Milroe was receiving a lot of hype. Many expect him to develop into a star at the NFL level.
During the 2024 college football season with the Crimson Tide, he struggled at times with his passing, but also tore up defenses with his athleticism and rushing ability.
He completed 64.3% of his pass attempts for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while also rushing for 726 yards and 20 more touchdowns.
Chris Trapasso, an analyst for CBS Sports, offered an A+ grade for the Seahawks picking Milroe and offered some analysis about the selection as well.
"Head coach Mike Macdonald had a front-row seat to a pair of Lamar Jackson MVP seasons in Baltimore, and Milroe is the closest athletic specimen we've seen to Jackson from a running perspective," he wrote. "Flashes of impressive strikes downfield and the arm strength is above-average. Needs to learn to make quicker decisions and find the check down more often, not always looking for the home run. I love this pick because it provides long-term insurance for Sam Darnold, and he won't be asked to play right away of course."
