Maybe. I wonder how much input he's had on the Oline the past few years though because it's been atrocious.

Wasn’t it Carroll’s call? I thought he took the blame.

Bevell made the call, but ultimately it's Carroll's decision to go with it. Carroll was just taking the heat from Bevell.

I've always felt the Seahawks could have been even more feared in their hayday if their playcalling was better, so many times key moments in the game came with russell wilson improvising and making an incredible play

Yeah, Carroll wore the decision because he's the HC and that is what he does. Bevs through his WR under the bus, deflected all responsibility while somehow still maintaining he'd make the same call....... Which is illustrative as to why he had to go.

He had plays that he thinks should work based on situation, looks, etc but has no concept to if the players can actually execute the plan

So he falls back to "the play was there, we just didn't execute" instead of recognizing he's designing to the weaknesses of his talent and not coaching around their strengths

This had led him to be consistently mediocre

I'm just shocked Pete actually made the move, although I was hopeful as he was caught a couple times toward the end of the season being in dismay at some of the calls.... Even dropped a "what the hell was that" after one of them.

Now if he would only also send Cable on his way

Seattle fans have been complaining about Bevell’s playcalling since he was hired.

Russell Wilson saved Bevell for the last few years. Anytime their offense got something going it was all Wilson magic. Can't fault Bevell for their terrible OL talent in recent years though. They finally have a legit LT and some young pieces now and will field a much improved OL in 2018, you can bet on that.

Next headline: Tom Cable promoted to OC :D

Their OL didn’t get better at all once they traded for Duane Brown. As long as Cable is there, they will never have an at least decent OL.

Keep an eye out, Seattle may not be done firing coordinators.

LOL. They are now going to turn over the keys to Wilson? Good luck with that.

For the #Seahawks, who now need a new OC with Darrell Bevell being fired, Steve Sarkisian would be a top target. #Falcons coach Dan Quinn just said “zero chance of that."

Yeah, Atlanta is not going to allow that to happen (unless Seattle is willing to give up a first). He's under contract as OC, so Seattle can't steal him.
