The Seattle Seahawks will be embarking on a special season in 2025, as it will be the 50th in franchise history. This is a unique and important milestone for an expansion franchise that first came into existence during the 1976 season. Ultimately, the Seahawks - as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who joined the league in the same year - are on the "younger" end of the spectrum when it comes to NFL teams, as there are only four additional teams that have been established since the. Still, the fact there will be 50 years of Seahawks football is nothing short of a remarkable achievement.
As a result, the Seattle Seahawks will be making a slight alteration to their uniforms. For the 2025 season, they will be wearing 50th anniversary patches on their jerseys.
The patch is simple yet bold, and looks rather sharp on the jerseys. The 12 feathers at the bottom of the patch represent, you guessed it, the 12th Man. Seattle is always great about having subtle nods towards their passionate fan base in their uniforms, as it is a core pillar of the team's identity over these past five decades.
This will mark the first time since the 2018 season where the Seahawks will wear a patch on their jerseys. Back then, the team wore commemorative PGA patches in honor of their late owner, Paul G. Allen, who passed away in October of 2018.
