I agree... let seattle overpay...... get one of the top FA cb's..... smoot, baxter, or Rolle and bring in Nick Harper as nickel...

Harper should come cheap and already has played with macklin.....I would think Macklin can give us some insight on harper

Seattle is going after Hill
MJ says:
Cards believe Hill is a #3 or #4 CB. will only pay him 1-1.5 mil
Hill wants 2-2.5mil

Wonder if he will get the money he wants.

BINGO!

Bickering over 1 million in the 2005 edition of the NFL. Nice.

If Hill leaves, then we have.........nevermind. I'm trying not to panic but I'd hate to see that 1 mil end up forcing us to draft a corner instead of BPA.

I don't like it at all

seattle has tried for so long to firm up the #2 corner (at the time it was someone to pair with springs)

they drafted ike charlton, got vinson in a trade for ahman green and finally drafted lucas

it took ken a little while, but he figured it all out .. trufant came in and the hawks were set w/two very good young corners

everyone knows the way the FA market has been for a CB ... they could of gotten him for less this past summer

he should never of made it to market

with that said there is no way seattle should of matched that offer, but you knew that was going to be the case

kind of like when phillip daniels left to the bears .... loved the player, but wouldn't ever see paying that price

Also don't forget he has knowledge of our schemes and stuff...The one thing I don't like is having one of our guys go to a divsion rival...

But of course I love picking a guy up from a division rival.

If we lose Starks and Hill, we are naked at one corner and had better nail down a good FA right now before the rest of them are snapped up (even if we overpay a little) or we'll be locked in to drafting a corner with our top pick who'll have to start in his rookie year.

Which also means - forget about Cadillac, Brown, Benson or Johnson.

I kinda agree - if we signed Hill, at the very least we'd have to OKAY corners, but ot be completely naked just screws us at the RB position(unless that is we trade for either Henry or Bennett) - still some options out there and it's early but man would it be nice to be in a position of POWER comne draft time where BPA could REALLY have us at an advantage.
