Sean Miller retains basketball GM Chris Ogden, brings Xavier staff to Texas

Sean Miller is beginning to make Austin his own. The newly hired Texas Longhorns men’s basketball head coach is retaining at least one key figure from the previous Longhorns staff while building his staff with familiar faces from Xavier.

CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein is reporting that Miller, who was introduced last week as the Longhorns’ new head coach, is retaining Chris Ogden as the program’s general manager.

Adam Cohen, David Miller, and Ryan Anderson --- who were all on staff with Miller at Xavier --- will be on the Longhorns' staff as assistant coaches.

Ryan Reynolds is also headed to Austin as DOBO.

Miller is also bringing over several members of his Xavier staff. According to Rothstein, Adam Cohen, David Miller (no relation), and Ryan Anderson will join Texas as assistant coaches. Cohen served as associate head coach at Xavier this past season, while David Miller was an assistant and Anderson held the role of recruiting coordinator.

Anderson’s move to Texas can be seen as a promotion within Miller’s staff as the Longhorns look to reshape their identity following a lackluster stretch under former head coach Rodney Terry.

In addition, Ryan Reynolds, who served as Xavier’s special assistant to the head coach, will join Texas as director of basketball operations — another promotion within Miller’s coaching tree.
