A couple of weeks ago, I bought a last-minute ticket to a D-backs vs. Dodgers game at Chase Field. A good seat, in the 11th row at the edge of the infield grass. When I arrived, there was a note on my chair to report to the Marketing desk for a free gift.

I found out I was invited to an individual tour of Chase Field. I was one of thirty invitations they put out for that game (out of 40,000 seats). Yesterday I met with a nice guy (24 years old, just moved here from L.A.) for an hour and a half tour, behind the scenes, in the dugout and on the field.

We talked about baseball for most of that time. I was amazed at his knowledge of trivia (D-backs, Dodgers and Angels). And for a year, he was an apprentice to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, sharing an office with him.

Knowing that his objective was to sell me some sort of season ticket package for 2016, I explained that I am divorced and don't want to be tied down to a single ticket throughout the season.

He explained that they have a flexible plan for eight tickets (whether individual or in pairs), which can be traded for seats as good as where I had sat. I told him I would not pay to sit in seats farther back or out. He is going to email me his offer.

If you want to be put in touch with him, PM me and I'll be happy to give you the info. He was a pleasure to spend time with.

Thanks for the info. I started working with another kid as I think I'm going to pull the trigger for a package of some sort next year. I asked him, and they get commission so I'll stick with him, but it's good to know there's many options available.
