I'm impressed by Carolina. Their pass pressure would make them tough to beat. Also noteworthy is the lack of a big, fast Cardinal inside linebacker to shadow Newton, which makes them a tough matchup. However, Seattle is a bigger threat IMO due to their new found offensive strategy. This article details it. As I think back at the plays the Cards have had trouble handling, slowly developing crossing routes and screen passes seem to be the main issues. Most of the Cards' problem comes from having to blitz often. This leaves them more vulnerable especially to screens than most teams. We're still a long way from Seatlle locking up a playoff slot, but the Cards may face an interesting decision in the last game if a win could knock Seattle out of the playoffs!

My biggest concern is a team with a mobile QB, and a short passing game. Seems to me that passes into the flat or even screen's turn into big gainers.

Would be hilarious if the NFC East opponent(hopefully Playoff Eli) knocks Seattle out in the first round.

That way I wouldn't have to hear "no one wants to meet Seattle in the playoffs" talk.

I am way more concerned about Carolina we have beaten Seattle in Seattle no clue what we would do against cam and having to keep man coverage for 5+ seconds

lets see how Seattle plays out for the rest of the season -- with the provision that their last three, and perhaps four, will be against teams playing for nothing. Certainly their last three will be against bad teams all playing their back up QB.

My sense is that with Lynch out (and Graham) -- Seattle made some changes in their offense that went against tendencies. They are now laying down games of tape of their adjusted approach. (Btw-- I think this also explains in part some of DJs success in running-- Cards have gone away from zone to more power. Teams will adjust to this)

The biggest thing in "stopping" Seattle will be to win the west and make them travel. I think they are materially less dangerous on the road, where it is them taking long flights back and forth to the Pac NW and no home crowd that takes a good pass rush to another level.

If we finish as the two seed then the odds are that Carolina and Seattle meet in the second round. Probably the easier path to have to just face one of them rather than both of them.

Respect, yes.... Fear, no.

Exactly I'm getting sick of hearing this fear word for Seattle. Yeah they are playing well right now they're in the stretch for them only lost one game and you know who that game was too? Yeah that's right so tell me again why are we supposed to be afraid of them?

Respect them for sure but us and Carolina both beat them in their house. They are the ones playing catchup. The fact that Carolina can't get any respect from some is crazy. Are you guys watching their games? That's a crazy good team.

I haven't watched seattle play but figured that this was the case. The coaches adjusted the offense out of need and wilson is making the most of it.

I have said all along that wilson is/was the best of the mobil qb's and has the best (if not only) chance of taking it to the next level. He is definately the smartest and hardest working of that group. I have compaired him to alex smith in that he doesn't seem to make many bad choices theowing the ball. Now, I think he has the tools to take his game to the next level but it takes a coach to put him in the right system. Which that seem to be doing.

All in all I will give it a little more time to see if teams will be able to figure out a way to adjust to this new wrinkle.

This was sent from my cell pjone so please excise any typeos or other errors.

It's hilarious that Seattle bandwagoners are back to chest thumping. If you checked their forum after we beat them there were literally dozens of posts ripping on Wilson; They called him overrated, a glorified game manager, on and on they went.

I don't see why the so called experts see Seattle as this team that has resurrected themselves & ready to make their run to the SB? I'll give them their due in how easily they dismantled the Vikings. But, prior to that they didn't play all that well against the Steelers or Niners. Without a lot of help from the zebras, the Steelers win that game. Even in Seattle, Pittsburgh completely outplayed them.

So I see a team that has played a great game last week. That's it!! They need to show me they can do that a couple more times for me to start worrying about them. Baltimore is decimated by injuries right, but I'll hold out hope that they can compete on Sunday. With Flacco, there's no doubt in my mind that the Ravens could win that game. It'll be tough though with Schaub.

So we've already lost to Philly and Green bay huh? There you go again, speculating and treating it as fact.

If we don't beat Philly, I fear that we will be fighting for the #2 seed on SNF in 3 weeks.

Yep , I noticed that they had to win or else no playoff birth , how did that work out ???

no..they can lose to eagles and GB...the Seahawks win all games till the head to head.

Cards need to win that game or they are a fifth seed
