Seattle is quickly becoming my least liked team.

Damn good team!

IMO they have more talent up & down their roster than any team in the NFL...I'm afraid they are about to hoist the Lombardi unless they continue the trend of the NFC West losing the big one.

Good teams can showcase their talent one of two ways, with class or as thugs.
Seattle has chosen the latter.
They will not even sniff the Lombardi trophy.

I hear ya O. IMO Sherman is the only dude who acts like an ass & thug...I just think many hate Carroll so they hate his teams.

We will see, but I think you're wrong.

I don't think they will duplicate last season. They won a ton of close games early, getting good breaks and calls, and then got hot late. Wilson isn't going to be as good, just watch.

They remind me of a lot of Bears teams over the years. Ones that would have a great season, and then crash and burn the next one.

Wilson has been 'stinkin' up the place.

Did anyone else see Wilson elbow Clay Matthews in the stomach after he was sacked? I thought it was totally weak by Wilson to try and take a cheap shot to Matthews while he was getting off him. Matthews did say something to him after, I'd love to know what that was! :D

I dislike Carroll so much that it really is difficult for me to view that team without bias but I think the thuggery runs MUCH, MUCH deeper than just Sherman. I can't remember a team that had this many low class jerks on it.

They are probably the deepest team in the league on the defensive side of the ball. In addition to an up and coming QB they have a strong O line and a very talented group of running backs so I like their odds of winning it all but it's not going to sit well with me. Our best chance of finishing above them is if their starters all get suspended for PED violations. It's a long shot (probably two to one against it happening) but it's something to look forward to at least.

Interesting feature on the Seahawks in the current ESPN magazine.

Apparently, their owner, management and Pete Carroll have 100% bought into a New Age organizational philosophy - complete with meditation, visualization, health food bars in the eating room, spiritual and psychological counseling, keeping things positive/upbeat and a lot of 1 on 1 focus on the well-being of the "whole individual."

(Caught me by surprise, given Seattle's reputation for thuggishness).

Noble experiment IMHO, but just because they're exploring various modern techniques doesn't mean they're getting it right each time.

(Example - they don't want a player to be scared of making a mistake "because he'll get yelled at", but one theory holds that, if a person screws up and isn't held accountable, he/she will "find a way to punish themselves" - i.e. frequently by screwing up again).

The Seattle experiment figures to be an interesting ride. (From a competitive standpoint, I hope it fails).

Wilson had a poor game, and for some reason GB elected to give Rodgers a cameo start. Young might have won the backup spot for GB since Harrell looked terrible. Because of Pete Carroll and his smirk, it's easy to hate the Seahawks, but you have to admit their defense is great. GB just couldn't run against them. I'm hoping that it was because AR wasn't in the game. And former Card prospect Steven Williams looked VG, as did their entire group of running backs. IMO, they are the team to beat in the West.

Sherman does nothing on the field that is thuggish, he just talks ....... a lot

Browner will punish you though

On the OL Breno will take done liberties, but on the while the team plays physical football ..... no finnigans or igcognitos ...... shoot they don't even have a dockett as far as dirty play

I love these type of threads .... irrational hate and exaggerated bias is what it's about and yes Seattle is going to bring a physical game for sixty minutes every week ..... if they makes them thugs then you won't see a single Seattle fan cry ..... especially after years of undersized precision and finesse

Well, I'm probably using thuggery as a catchall for a lot of things I dislike - excessive smack talk, late hits, cut blocks, excessive contact especially on blindside hits etc. Players such as Sherman, Browner, Luke Willson, Red Bryant, Michael Robinson, Chris Clemons, Golden Tate and most of the O Line come to mind but again, I think it's much more widespread than even that list suggests.

Oh come on, you have to know it's more than that. Sure, it's probably blown out of proportion a bit because of the almost universal hate directed towards Coach Arrogance but there's a reason it comes up regularly on fan boards. Every team that plays them seems to echo this thought and it even gets discussed frequently on Seahawk forums. You guys have a lot of talent and you play a very physical style and yes, many of us are probably a bit envious of those facts but too many of your players go beyond "playing physical" too often.

I'll tell you what. Go on a 5 or 6 game loosing streak and they'll be throwing those health bars at each other.
