Sergio Aguero’s nightmare season has taken another turn for the worse after the Manchester City striker revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus. Aguero had been self-isolating since Jan 10 after coming into close contact with a person who had contracted the virus, the latest blow in a season dogged by injury problems. But the Argentine’s return has been further delayed after he tested positive for Covid-19 himself just days before his quarantine period was due to end. Aguero, 32, is now expected to miss City’s FA Cup fourth-round tie away to Cheltenham Town on Saturday night and the Premier League game at West Bromwich Albion three days later as he undergoes a second period of self-isolation. The full details around the circumstances of his positive test have not been disclosed but it is understood that City are hopeful Aguero will be back in the middle of next week for further testing, with a view to then resuming training. Even if there are no complications then, though, City’s game at home to Sheffield United on Saturday week could still come too soon for the striker. Aguero tweeted on Thursday:
