So, I decided, on a silly whim, to give the pilot for this show a chance. It's an ABC Family show (the channel now called Freeform), but I figured, what the heck. I mean, Stitchers turned out to be a fun show that hooked me in.

What a mistake. What a terrible, tragic mistake. It starts off cheesy, and I can already tell it's the non-Supernatural CW vibe. Eh, maybe I can get around that. We have an inciting incident, which catches a bit of interest, and BAM! An INSTANT cutaway to X Hours Earlier. Ugh! A freaking How We Got Here trope, not five minutes in. Blah!

I'm about to give up, but I figured I'd let it go until 11pm, when Family Guy comes on. It's cliched, has some poor As You Know, Bob expo, but I think I can make it through the pilot, and then, BEFORE resolving the X Hours Earlier trope, it flashes back to TEN YEARS EARLIER!!! I mean, seriously, you don't do a flashback within a fricking FLASHBACK!!! This was my reaction, while switching at 10:58 to the Cartoon Network:

I can't get over it...a flashback within an unresolved flashback, not ten minutes into a pilot episode. I want some of what those hack writers were smoking! Bwahahahahahaha!

my daughter, who is a huge fan of the books,...when she first saw a preview for this, " Oh my God, NO, they already screwed up a movie,...now a TV series to screw up too??!!"

the wife dvr'd it for her anyway....... at least she enjoys the Shannara Chronicles

Haha, nice. Sure, the chick was hot, but...yeah, not a reason to watch a show.
