I'm better than Mulli!
i've watched a few episodes b/c i'm curious about the social experiment. and though i know that producers twist the material they have to fit their own needs i have to say i'm somewhat flabbergasted by the results thus far.
through the 3 or 4 episodes i've watched so far i've fully expected the dudes to not meet their "match" at the end due to the women being overweight or not entirely attractive, and thus far i've been shocked to see almost every guy take a flier if they've liked the girl in the dark.
it is equally, if not more, shocking to me that the opposite has proven true of the women. they use phrases like, "i cannot believe i'm falling for him so quickly," or "i think i really found my match" throughout the show. then, when the dudes are revealed, the ladies bail. a surprisingly large percentage of them. even ones where i think the dude will bail due to the woman's physical shortcomings and the dudes pull through altruistically, sticking to the feelings they've built in the dark, and the ladies still cannot overcome their physical prejudices.
i really thought we'd see the results divide unevenly between men and women, but i really thought we'd see it skew unfavorably towards men emphasizing looks rather than women. seems women are proving to be a bit shallower in this admittedly limited sampling of our society.
anyone else finding this interesting (as whole - the actual interactions are rather vanilla and not very interesting)?
